A brilliantly honest account. I am so glad to read someone burst the 'abundance' bullshit.

The producer/grower/farmer path is tough in so many ways and, despite our hopes and dreams, still tragically tied to the very thing we want to escape. Sometimes I think it'll only be fixed by total societal collapse. Onwards ... into 'abundance'

“Sometimes I accidentally leave raw milk where I shouldn’t, and find envelopes of cash in the same vicinity, and on the same day. “ 😂 I recently switched to raw goat milk and can drink it without issue, which I cannot say for pasteurized. Joel Salatin makes some good points about the history of pasteurization as a cheap, stupid way to put a band aid on a sullied dairy system.

As I travel around to small homesteads helping folks get switched over to a regenerative system with fewer inputs, I have been landing in the middle of the gluts. I have spent more time canning and freezing and freeze drying, then I have on grazing management or permaculture designs. And now my inner alarms are blaring at me to put roots down while also screaming for me to speed up the process to get more homesteads set up and running with fewer or no inputs, but that will still regenerate and rebuild the soil for future generations. Alas, the gluts don’t happen every day. And there will be times when the gluts will be welcomed or wished for. And if the moons or pixie pic up sticks or cow chi aligns maybe I can pause a bit to come help if only to carry produce or gallons of milk to their next resting spot. I will be continuing to the next family homestead in mid September, so it won’t be very long. Just let me know! In the mean time, try not to drown in ketchup or the extra white liquid gold. Hugs coming your way!! Stay strong!! Brigitte

Sorry to hear about the glut of rain and the damage it’s caused, 8” that’s tropical storm rain that is.

Great essay, thank you. A milk bath sounds very royal and why the fuck not, sounds like you deserve it.

I’ve been following a fine fellow who has a farm and all the food he grows he is gifting away to anyone that might be in need. It’s been inspiring.

What a wonderful read. As entertaining as insightful, as always. Makin' me crave some quantum woo-woo milk. Could use some good juju, tbh
