Your moral pondering here is exactly the same honest, well-intentioned, and connected array of thoughts which you lent me in your walking onion garden. There is something I object to, and that's the word "humane." Oxford defines it as "having or showing compassion or benevolence," things which you attempt to your fullest to show to your animals. But even if we take the greatest care, are the most compassionate, we are still ending a life: an unforgivable transgression and an immoral act. I think it's worth noting that we can attempt humanity, and we can even get close to it, but we will never fully embody it; we'll always animalize the animal. That doesn't mean you should stop trying. While there isn't a perfect, there is always a "better," and I admire your commitment to bettering everything you do.
Смерть невід'ємна частина колеса життя. Дякую!
All of us would do well to meet the same end as your pigs. Wonderful writing, thanks for sharing.
Admiration for the way you’re thoughtfully killing your animals. Thank you for this.
Ben,
